Reser’s Fine Foods, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, and A-dec Give Generously for Compassion Force Kits

(Portland, OR) September 15, 2020 – As massive wildfires continue to claim lives, displace families, and destroy businesses and livelihoods across the western U.S., the non-profit Medical Teams International has partnered with three Oregonian companies to provide critically needed hygiene supplies.

Medical Teams is deeply grateful to Reser’s Fine Foods, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, and A-dec for stepping up to help their neighbors in distress in Oregon. Together, the companies have contributed toward providing 2,000 Compassion Force hygiene kits to evacuees. More corporate donations are needed to reach Medical Teams’ total commitment of 5,000 kits. To make a corporate donation, email [email protected].

Medical Teams’ Compassion Force hygiene kits cost $10 per kit. Each kit provides enough hygiene items for one month, including shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, floss, bandaids, and a washcloth. Medical Teams will also provide specialized medical equipment (e.g. walkers, nebulizers, diabetes strips, and testers) as requested while discerning other areas of needed support. The kits will be delivered to United Way’s Salem office and distributed to the evacuation centers at Oregon State Fairgrounds and Deschutes County Fairgrounds.

“We so appreciate our compassionate corporate partners, Reser’s Fine Foods, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, and A-dec, who have come together to help displaced Oregonians,” said Debra Hirsh, Medical Teams Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.

“These companies have long-standing relationships with Medical Teams and have a history of responding to needs in our community. In this time of great crisis, they have responded yet again.”

“A-dec has been a long-time supporter of Medical Teams International.  Both A-dec and Medical Teams have a mission to support our communities.” said Marv Nelson, A-dec Executive VP/COO. “We are proud to partner with Medical Teams International to support those who have been affected by the tragic fires. Our thoughts go out to those families who have lost loved ones, been evacuated, or lost their homes.”
