Listed by CNN’s “A guide to helping and getting help during the coronavirus crisis” and mentioned by CharityWatch with other “highly efficient and accountable charities.” Medical Teams International is one of many U.S.-based charities that are working on the frontlines.

Charity Navigator has named Medical Teams as one of the highly-rated charities providing medical services in a list with “trustworthy organizations” working to combat COVID-19.

The BBB Wise Giving Alliance has vetted Medical Teams as one of the “Accredited National Charities Addressing Coronavirus.”

Experts in Disaster Response

For 40 years, Medical Teams has provided life-saving medical care where it’s needed most. Our staff and volunteers care for the hurting in front-line clinics, refugee camps and remote villages. In places where local health systems are overwhelmed or non-existent, and here at home reaching vulnerable populations, Medical Teams is responding with compassion and expertise.

We know how to respond to outbreaks to save lives. When Ebola ravaged Liberia, we worked with communities to stop the spread and reduce the chances of another catastrophic outbreak. We are on the frontlines in Uganda, monitoring for Ebola as refugees cross the border from the Congo. Every day, our doctors and nurses treat infectious diseases like tuberculosis and hemorrhagic fevers.

Not only are we experienced in strengthening the ability of local health providers to respond to outbreaks, but we know the importance of equipping community members to stop outbreaks. We train Community Health Workers to seek out the vulnerable people in their communities and educate them about good handwashing, hygiene, how to prevent disease and when to seek help.

We are bringing the best of what we have to fight this deadly outbreak. The COVID-19 pandemic is serious and urgent, changing people’s lives day-by-day. Stay up-to-date on our COVID-19 response around the world and what’s been accomplished so far.
