Join Local Celebrities & Athletes on a Global Tour

(Portland, OR) MAY 18, 2021—Medical Teams International’s annual celebration, Field of Dreams, will be open to the public for the second time in its 20-year history. This inspiring online event will tell personal stories of hope and healing from refugees around the world. The program will include recognition of our partners and supporters, and dive deeper into the work of Medical Teams as told through personal stories.

Medical Teams, along with co-chairs Bill Hilf, Shelley Hilf and Walter Jones, welcome the public to join this entirely virtual, immersive experience. The event kicks off with a seven-day online auction, beginning May 30. The livestream event will be broadcast on Saturday, June 5, featuring special celebrity appearances from Jim Zorn, Cliff Avril, and Monique Ming Laven, a musical performance from Senegal, and a Q&A session with Medical Teams’ President & CEO, Martha Holley Newsome. Hosted by the World’s Greatest Auctioneer, John Curley, this is your opportunity to directly support the work of Medical Teams International. Anyone can attend by registering at https://www.medicalteams.org/event/field-of-dreams/.

Field of Dreams is one of Seattle’s premier events and is consistently ranked as one of the area’s most successful fundraisers. Since 2002, this event has raised over $26 million to make a lasting impact on the health and lives of people in crisis around the world. Last year’s goal to raise $1 million was exceeded by $250,000, thanks to the generosity of our donors.

“Field of Dreams enables Medical Teams to provide life-saving medical care around the world and here at home,” said Mike Hogan, Medical Teams’ VP of Marketing & Development. “This event is truly one-of-a-kind, and the energy, enthusiasm, and valued resources it generates inspire and equip us all.”

Medical Teams’ extends gratitude to our generous Field of Dreams sponsors, including a-dec, Alaska Airlines, BD, Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette, Kaiser Permanente NW, MultiCare, PacificSource Charitable Foundation, Providence Health & Services, Regence BlueShield of Washington, Reser’s Fine Foods, and Swedish Health Services.
